The Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) is October 15th through December 7th.
This is when you review your Medicare Part D (medicines) coverage. The video below will show you how to use our Part D comparison software.
Medicare Supplements (aka Medigap plans) automatically renew with the same benefits and there are no deadlines.
How To Review And Change Your Drug Plan For 2024
(Please note in 2023 that SilverScript SmartSaver dropped all contracts with brokers. Therefore that plan will not appear in search results)
The Important Points:
- Any changes you make during AEP will have an effective date of January 1st. Your current plan will remain in force through the end of the year. Medicare will cancel your 2023 plan behind the scenes, there is nothing you need to do..
- If you are currently on a Medicare Advantage plan, and sign up for a Part D plan, this will disenroll you from that Medicare Advantage plan. Make sure you first have been approved for a Medicare Supplement, if you are applying for one.
- After you have signed up for a Part D plan, you may likely get a call from the insurance company trying to sell you on giving up Original Medicare and your chosen Part D plan for a much-more-profitable “Medicare Advantage” plan.
These sales calls are happening all the time in order to make more sales by the insurance companies, themselves.
- We do NOT represent ALL of the drug plans in the country. Not all insurance companies allow brokers to represent their plans.
If you are having trouble with our Medicare Part D comparison software, please use the button below to complete a Scope of Appointment (SOA) and schedule an appointment. Remember, Medicare now requires a "48 hour period" between completion of the SOA and your appointment.
